hello, I am tess.

I am currently a 23 year old who is passionate about capturing moments and memories. My whole photography journey really started when I was 6 years old. Every summer my family would go to York Beach, Maine to enjoy the calm waves and tranquil sunrises and sunsets. One of my uncles, who is an self taught "professional" photographer, would meet us up there and I just loved to play around with his equipment & gear. Most of those photos I took were beyond horrible, but that's where my love really started. Fast forward to freshman year of high school is really where I began to dive deeper into photography. I bought my first real camera and I loved to play around with it, snapping whenever and where ever. Those photos are significantly better than my 6 year old self could have snapped, but they too are mostly horrible. That time for me was so important because it really marked the starting point to my portfolio. In the past 6 years I have been honored to shoot all sorts of events, people, places, etc. You will find lots and lots of happy smiles, soft bokeh backgrounds, real-life moments and many UW Badgers throughout my portfolio, oh and you might event recognize some faces!
